Oz.......

Well Oz's loaner called on Monday to say he didn't feel right when she had ridden on Monday,  not lame but reluctant to go forward and to canter.  I went the following day and he looked fine in walk and not forward (but not lame in left trot) but the right trot looked odd.  I jumped on and he felt awful in walk and after a couple of short burst of trot felt lame in front and not right behind.

Ran him in hand and he looked lamer.  Called the vet who was in the area and he came within 20 minutes or so, Oz was worse when trotted and about 5 minutes after trotting was pointing his foot.

No pain on hoof testers, but a pulse which was never there last year during all his troubles.  Vet said pulse could be infection (i.e pus in the foot) or could be inflammation (i.e his injuries flaring up).  He said it didn't look good but to poultice anyway for 48 hours.  So fearing the worst I started to make plans even in just in my head.  Would reassess tomorrow, but called a friend who could be with him on Friday.
